Law No. 93/2021 established the General Regime for the Protection of Whistleblowers, transposing Directive (EU) 2019/1937 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the protection of persons who report breaches of Union law into national law.
According to this legislation, all legal entities with 50 or more employees are required to implement internal reporting channels, which may be shared between entities within the same business group, provided that confidentiality and the proper handling of reports received are guaranteed.
